Our Focus Areas

Health
Fresno Building Healthy Communities is committed to health equity across Fresno. We believe that health not only includes your physical well-being, but mental and socio-economic well-being too. Through efforts like the COVID-19 Equity Project, we are able to bring resources to our most vulnerable community members.

Housing
Every community member deserves safe, affordable housing. We advocate for housing strategies that support rent control, aren't developer-focused, and are made from community-based solutions.

Economic Development
Fresno Building Healthy Communities advocates for economic development through initiatives such as D.R.I.V.E (Developing the Regions Inclusive and Vibrant Economy). These initiatives allow communities to uplift their neighborhoods through resident collaboration and engagement, which in return helps create a plan to build up communities and local economies.

Land Use
Fresno Building Healthy Communities advocates for responsible land-use practices across our city. Instead of agricultural facilities polluting our air, we fight for more parks, sustainable business practices, and vegetative barriers in our neighborhoods. With campaigns like #Parks4All and #GoodNeighborBadNeighbor, we engage communities to be a part of land-use development in their neighborhoods

Outdoor Access
Through multiple Outdoor Access projects, Fresno Building Healthy Communities aims to create access to some of Fresno's beautiful outdoor spaces for all Fresnans. Unfortunately, many residents cannot access these areas due to a lack of transit options, or the areas are simply not accessible to the public–Fresno Building Healthy Communities works to change this by creating a #River4All.

Transportation
Every Fresnan deserves quality transportation options. Improved public transit, better emissions standards, street repairs, and more bike lanes are just some of the items residents demand. Fresno Building Healthy Communities advocates for #Transportation4All, so future generations have safer streets, cleaner air, and better public transit.
