Thank you for joining us for the 2020 Fresno Building Healthy Communities Virtual Community Champion Awards & Fundraiser. This year, we are honoring community leaders and young people working to create #OneHealthyFresno for all.
For more than 10 years, Fresno Building Healthy Communities has worked with thousands of community leaders, young people, community- and faith-based organizations, to advance healthy and thriving communities.
Keynote Speaker:
Kieshaun White (4:00)
Youth leader Kieshaun White is a leader with Fresno Boys and Men of Color. White talks about stepping into his power, becoming a community leader, and how he was inspired to implement the Kieshaun White Air Quality Project.

Socorro Santillan (4:00)
Socorro Santillan is a seasoned community leader and Fresno Building Healthy Communities partner since 2012. Santillan has been involved with a multitude of campaigns including the fight to save Fresno County’s safety-net health care program for Fresno's indigent populations. Santillan reflects on her involvement and the legacy she wants to leave behind.
Fresno Building Healthy Communities' Community Champion Awards recognizes the contributions of key leaders in the community who demonstrate tireless dedication and leadership to create #OneHealthyFresno.
Meet Our 2020 Honorees
Kevin Hamilton (3:30)
Kevin Hamilton played a key role in establishing Fresno Building Healthy Communities in 2010. A respiratory therapist, nonprofit executive, and advocate, Hamilton is a jack-of-all-trades, whose leadership has steered the coalition to the force it is today.
Chali Lee (2:30)
Chali Lee knows how to break barriers. His work with Fresno Boys and Men of Color is noteworthy, but his involvement with the #Parks4All campaign and work as an LGBTQ+ leader is inspiring. Chali is a role model for other youth to get involved in the community.
Lisa Flores (3:15)
Lisa Flores might call herself an "odd duck", but we call her a powerhouse in the community. Flores is an inspiration, working to ensure community members are heard, elected officials are held accountable, and now "angrily sewing through COVID", making sure everyone who doesn't have a mask, get one.
Faith in the Valley (3:45)
Faith in the Valley, formerly Faith in Community, has been working to ensure the city's General Plan invests in established communities, has steered the coalition’s fight for healthy and affordable housing for all, and led a multi-year campaign to implement preventative and responsive community safety programs that invest in people.
