Gina Santillan joined the Fresno Building Healthy Communities in October of 2020 as a Community Health Worker and is now serving as our Project Specialist. As a Project Specialist, Gina is a key part of our Projects Team. She provides support in project planning and implementation and works to mobilize other organizations to inspire the community.
As part of the pandemic response, Gina became trained to administer the COVID-19 vaccine and is proud of earning this new skill. Gina was also a vital part of our contact tracing team within Fresno Unified School District during the COVID-19 pandemic response efforts.
Originally a preschool teacher, Gina applies her skills from the classroom to working with parents and teachers within the school system today. She firmly believes that these valuable skills help her work within her community and help navigate COVID-19 concerns with families, students, and educators.
In her spare time, Gina enjoys a passion of the outdoors and shares these experiences with her grandchildren.
